30 Days Knitting Challenge (Day 4)

Day 4 : How did you learn how to knit ?

My aunt, who’s a really good knitter, taught me the basics (knit&purl) when I was 11. Then I didn’t knit again until I was 20, when my ex-bf’s mother showed me how to cast on, how to knit and how to purl. I got sick of it and waited to be about 26 or 27 to knit again. Last year I went into a hat craze, but in 2011 being pregnant really turned me into a crazy knitter, and thanks to Youtube and blogs I’m now able to knit cute things like baby booties, baby sweater, blankets and so on.

30 Days Knitting Challenge (Day 3)

Day 3 : Do you have any other wips (works in progress) ?

Well, not really. There’s this scarf I wanted to knit for my husband but it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to, so I just put it in my knitting bag and it’s been there for 2 years now. I also bought a nice skein of fluffy yarn last winter and started knitting a big cowl but then again the result was not satisfying at all so it’s now waiting with the unfinished scarf.

30 Days Knitting Challenge (Day 2)

Day 2 : What is currently on your needles ?

I’m currently knitting a baby bootie, to match the first one and a pair of legwarmers I did earlier this month (I’m doing the Saartje’s Bootees, see Ravelry link here), another pair in another colour for a baby swap I’m in and a little jacket for my baby (but I’m not sure I can finish it before I give birth).

30 Days Knitting Challenge (Day 1)

I may not be able to finish this challenge in one month and I’ve got the best excuse : I’m giving birth soon (I’m due in 18 days but my baby may decide he wants to be with us for Xmas of New Year’s eve, who knows ?), so we’ll see how long I can do this !

Day 1: What was your first finished project ?

As a lot of my fellow knitters, I made a scarf. I started a lot of different projects at the beginning but the first one I really finished was a loooong purple and black scarf. It was way to stretchy and after a winter wearing it it looked awful.

I even found a picture of it on my old blog (now offline) ! It looked really good at the beginning (even though I’m not 100% sure the stripes were all the same length…), I was so proud of myself haha :
